Needing to Take Charge

A golden opportunity has come the Kings way and hopefully they can take advantage of it. The Phoenix Suns big man Amare Stoudemire will be out for the first 4 months of the season due to a knee injury, and so with that gap in the Suns lineup the Kings need to capitalize and take an early lead in the Pacific division. The Kings start their season on a 4 game road trip, but then spend most of the rest of the month at home with a mixture of good to mediocre teams. So now this is where I say the obvious thing, the Kings need to win the games against those lesser teams, i.e. New Orleans Hornets, Toronto Raptors, and Charlotte Bobcats. It’s definitely going to be an exciting season in the Pacific division, it’s not going to be a lock like everyone thought it would be.

New Season With New Faces

The 2005-06 season for the Kings kicked off last Monday, with Media Day, but practice began that following Tuesday. The thing that seems to stand out the most right now is how deep the Kings seem to be with young talent. With the addition of rookie center Luke Schenscher, whom they claimed off of waivers from the Denver Nuggets, and rookie forward Eric Sandrin, for example. Keep an eye out for this team; they have a dangerous combination of enthusiastic young players filling right in with the experienced veterans.
